Well, since I am already on it, here is a loveley place I visited last weekend. Slot Zuylen nearby Utrecht. For those caring about the details, it was home to the writer Belle van Zuylen. She was - for her time - quite a free spirit and her parents encouraged her to be that way.
The castle gardens can be visited free of charge on sundays and we took a stroll around. There is a tour around the gardens and surrounding area which also brings you closer to Belle's life. "Een aarader" as we say here - a top tip!
